How Jonathan Toto would wish that he was facing the Jaguars everyday after last night game. Toto cuts a forlorn figure in the previous game against Courts Young Lions - in which the Stars lost 2-1 - and was seemingly out of place in last night's encounter (27 June 2011) when he managed to connect to a cross to double the scoreline.
The Stars had rested Franklin Anzite and Anthony Aymard in this enounter and put in the starting XI Kevin Lefranc - fresh from a goal in the last game -, Theo Raymond and also Andrea Damiani. The changes immediately reaped rewards for the Stars as Theo Raymond volleyed home the lead with less than 4 minutes on the clock, connecting to a Camara cross that evaded every single soul on the pitch, bar Theo. The midfielder was clearly happy with his effort.
The Jaguars, to their credit, tested the defence of the Stars so much that Coach Arena had to put in Franklin Anzite into the game to stablize the defence. After Toto scored, it was left with Julien Durand making a cameo appearance after a long layout through injury. The Stars were more comfortable on the ball in this game - perhaps due to the early lead - and does not look in danger of losing the game.
New Etoile Chairman, Mr Hicham Moudden, was also spotted at the stands at word had it that the Stars would be signing another striker to compliment the exisiting squad. This would certainly be music to the ears of Arena.
Allez Etoile, Forza Ultras.
