Stars Gunning for A Win to Bounce Back from Surprise Defeat

Having come out from a 2-1 loss to the Courts Young Lions - of which refereeing decisions and some rustiness of the Etoile's players contributed to the loss - the Stars would be looking to get their first win with a new Chairman on board.

Mr Johan Gouttefangeas had left the club after bringing French flavour to the S-League in 2010 - winning the League Cup and S-League title at the first time of asking. The new chairman, Mr Hicham Moudden, would hope to eclispe what Johan had did and tonight's game would be the first step towards defending the S-League title.

Despite having 5 points deducted by the Disciplinary Committee, pending appeal, Etoile FC still have the chance to defend their league title, and being the first club in the world to win a league title while having points docked, provided they win all their games in hand. This would mean that they would be 5 points behind Home United, and 3 points behind Tampines Rovers.

Jonathan Toto would hope to play better than what he had done against Tanjong Pagar, missing 2 clear sitters and fluffing his shots and passes. On the same tune, the whole team would have to buck up from recent events and not let events affect their game mood. On paper, Etoile FC looks to have the best squad and with Kevin LeFranc announcing his return to the game with a beauty on 46th minute, the Stars should do well against a team that they beat 2-0 in the Singapore Cup Preliminaries.

Considering that Etoile FC had never won at Clementi Stadium, the last visit was a 3-3 draw with Home United, the Stars would definitely be geared up for this game.

The Ultras will be there cheering the Stars - win or lose!

Our Prediction: Etoile FC 4 Tanjong Pagar United 1
