Maxime Belouet came to Etoile FC at the beginning of the season as a total unknown to fans in Singapore. However, he needed just 30 minutes in his first game against Tampines Rovers (Charity Shield 2011) to introduce himself to the crowd. A well-struck penalty kick against Singapore national custodian Hassan Sunny, then 4 goals from free kicks in 5 S-League games, saw the number 11 of Etoile FC rose to prominance.
His 4 free kicks goal to date:
(a) vs Geylang United: From the edge of the penalty box, Maxime curled a freekick into the box which evaded everyone, including Yazid Yazin to open the scoring.
(b) vs Hougang United: Maxime was fouled 35 yards from the goal, picked himself up and scored a wonderful freekick. Moments later, the french midfielder scored another freekick, this time at the right hand side of goal, near to the corner kick flag. The ball sailed beyond Ridzuan Fatah Hassan and into goal.
(c) vs Albirex Niigata (S): What looks like a draw saw Maxime stepping up to take a free-kick and curl it past Matsushita and into goal for a 1-0 win.
